MadamKelly heart my hubs
I wanted my wedding to be a party, a celebration, so I chose pink and orange. Crazy for a wedding, I know, and a far cry from the traditional lavender and white :) But it was beautiful! Bright and fun. And like my husband told people who thought they were dumb colors: we met at sunset…and we’re going to see many sunrises in our life together.

Because of the venue, the idea is probably a maroon and pale buttery yellow… although violet and white are also under consideration.
OTOH I could go with all white, or with just pastel touches and white or ivory. Hmmm. Need to take swatches or something over to site. SO bad with colors. But maybe it’s something to talk to the floral designer about.

The bridesmaid dresses are decided! I can offically call this DONE!

Since I last wrote, there have been a few developments.
First, the Louis Tiffany stamps. Wow! They epitomize exactly what I’m looking for in colors.
I keep referencing it when I’m looking at various items.
I’m still feeling very drawn to blue and green. The girls are getting closer to visualizing what they want to wear, and there’s a blue dress at Ann Taylor that my sister adores! At first, I was thinking blue AND green dresses, but now I’m thinking that if my other bridesmaid likes that blue dress, I can still find ways to add in green to the overall uniform look of the wedding without green being a part of the actual dress.
So, yeah, this is feeling much better.
Oh, and I’ve been finding a lot more pictures of blue and green weddings, which have been great inspiration as well.

I spent all of last night playing around with various color tools to figure out my wedding colors.
What I’m drawn to most is blue and green, with orange accents. Actually, one of the combos I created was a more purple-blue-stormy kind of color with mint green and a mango orange. I’m getting married at Red Rocks Park, just west of Denver, and want a really simple, natural kind of wedding. Rustic elegance is a term that I keep thinking of. Against the backdrop of the dramatic, red-orange rocks and the bright blue sky, I’m really hoping these colors work.
I suppose the bridesmaid dresses will play a big part in the decision. I find a lot of dresses that I like, but none yet that really are IT. Am I being too perfectionist?
Still keeping an open mind. Any other color combos that you think would work well in that setting?
