that this pancake recipe
is phenomenal. And easy.
I added a swish of vanilla just because I have a natural aversion to following the rules properly.
SmallVictories is fine and dandy and, by the way, addicted to FarmTown.
It is not worth it so far because remembering the good makes it hard to put away. If it was good once, it could be good again…maybe it wasn’t mature or ready…maybe it could be… Whatever. Shut Up stupid brain/heart combo. It was bad, it was good, it was in the past. the future is unknown.

After a few months of friendly distance with R, I am succeeding at this goal. I didn’t think I ever would, I was so angry and suspicious with him. But I think that I have handled myself well in my interactions with him for a long time, and he is in Germany so it’s a safe distance and we just chat once in a while. I’ve been working on changing my mind about the things I want and just let it all go, including my old attachment to him. So I’m feeling more positive than I would have guessed, about him and in general. I’ve got a lot of good will towards him, and I remind myself that I’m the one who needs the goodwill so don’t go too goodwill-y on him, he’s doing fine and only needs just a tiny bit doesn’t need anything from me.
Other than that, I don’t know how to explain it.

this list is really working for me -
I have had a look through it for ideas several times when heading out to get groceries.
I highly recommend this to anyone stuck in a food rut (you know who you are)!

1) Often when I go shopping, I’m hungry and I can’t think of what to buy so I just grab any old thing, without a plan. In the end I have a bunch of food at home which I sometimes don’t eat because there’s nothing to go with it!
2) I actually like healthy food. And healthy food can sometimes be convenient, but it takes a little thought when shopping. So I’m making a list of healthy food that I like, but often forget about. (OK, and a few comfort foods as well…)
French bread and brie (comfort food)
Bacon and tomato sandwich on brown bread
Grilled cheese sandwich (comfort food)
Mashed potatoes (comfort food)
Tomato salad (with bocconcini and fresh basil!)
Kimchee (Korean spicy cabbage salad)
Salade Nicoise
Homemade French salad dressing
Red lentil soup (with lemon)
Tortilla soup
Borscht
Shabu shabu (a Japanese sort-of soup)
Kimchee nabe (spicy stew)
Hungarian goulash
Beef & broccoli stir fry
Perogies
Quiche
Chicken Pot Pie
Thin crust margherita pizza with a few dashes of tabasco on top
Asparu-bekkon – asparagus spears wrapped in bacon, grilled.
Balsamic vinegar and olive oil (with bread)
Bagels
Arabian squash dip (but I lost the recipe -it’s from Moosewood)
Hummous
Popcorn
Olives
Veggie sticks
Corn on the cob, BBQed- w/ soy sauce (inst of butter + salt)
Tofu
Baked stuff with yogurt (instead of butter or marg.)
Apple pancakes if you put a spoonful of honey in and some cinnamon, you don’t even need butter or syrup with them!!!
Crepes (sweet or savoury)
Omelette with Spinach, feta and bacon
Veggie samosas
