We went to my husband’s friend’s house to watch the perseids, as he lives out in the country.
It was AMAZING. The whole night sky was crystal clear! I couldn’t have asked for a better night! The milky way was completely visible, too.
I must have seen over 40 shooting stars. Some were just little blips, and others were spectacularly bright and long. One was so bright that when it burned out, the sky flashed!
Only 2-3 years of trying, lol. It finally paid off!

I just checked the seven day forecast, and it’s saying partly cloudy for Saturday and Sunday. It’s only Wednesday today, though, so that can change quickly.

It was just nice to lie beneath the sky, so I enjoyed myself even though it was cloudy. We stayed up til 2 am waiting for the cloud cover to blow out. It cleared up in patches, so we laid out on lawn furniture and chatted. The guys saw a few, but somehow I missed the ones they saw. We’re considering going again tonight, as last night was only the peak.
If it’s still cloudy, there is always the perseids in August to aim towards.

Well, so much for that! I made plans to go to a friends house to watch the peak… and it’s looking like it’s going to rain!
It poured here today, so I’m hoping it’ll blow over by tomorrow evening and it will be clear.
I guess stormy July is the exception to my Full Moon observation.

The next meteor shower is July 28th, during the full moon. I REALLY want to witness this one. Every time in the past there has been natural phenomena, I’ve been at work, or it has been cloudy. The full moon is my best bet coz it’s usually clear around a full moon.
