Keep things Simple

Bleh. 8 months ago

Problems in my life stem from over-thinking and over-complicating. I need to worry about school and let everything else fall into place.

The irony 2 years ago

of simplicity is that a lot of complex and intricate effort must be spent before one can come up with a simple and elegant solution. To skip this part amounts to nothing short of laziness!

This feels hard right now 2 years ago

As a result of our recent restructuring, we have had to modify our internal systems significantly. This included design enhancements, new workflows, massive data maintenance, etc. I’m getting input from every angle, to the point it overwhelms me and I feel blindsided by all that noise. In meetings, some folks voice concerns that conceal their self-obsessed agendas. It’s actually quite sickening to see people openly and vehemently bitch about how it’s not their job and that the change in scope feels more like a curse everyday.

It’s hard to keep things simple when people are selfish, too proud to admit they’re wrong or breaks into a panic every half hour just because some things are not yet working as well as it should be.

I need to step back, detach myself from the fray. I believe there’s a better and simpler way of doing things, but it will need everyone to swallow their pride and help each other out, instead of readily dishing out blame or passing their responsibilities around like it’s the plague.

This joke made me realized 2 years ago

just how easy/often I complicate matters….

The Lone Ranger and Tonto went camping in the desert. After they got their tent all set up, both men fell sound asleep…

Some hours later, Tonto wakes the Lone Ranger and says, “Kemo Sabe, look towards sky, what you see?”
The Lone Ranger replies, “I see millions of stars.”
“What that tell you?” asked Tonto.
The Lone Ranger ponders for a minute then says…

“Astronomically speaking, it tells me there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets.
Astrologically, it tells me that Saturn is in Leo. Time wise, it appears to be approximately a quarter past three in the morning.
Theologically, the Lord is all-powerful and we are small and insignificant.
Meteorologically, it seems we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. What’s it tell you, Tonto?”

Of which Tonto replied… “You dumber than buffalo shit. Someone stole our tent !”

Simplify! 2 years ago

I work an hour and a half far from home.
I always try to do 7 things while I should be doing one.
My desire for knowledge possesses me, and, in the end, I know nothing.

Isn’t it time to make things easier?

Just keep focus.
