llong wants to do every task consciously and sacredly
At about 155 pages, the “Tao of Pooh” is the type of book that can be easily read in 3 hours. The vocabulary is relatively simple: the biggest word in the book is probably ‘illustration’. The lessons contained in it, however, require real work and need to be re-read.

From a friend’s roommate who I don’t really know that well. I’ll have to read it pretty quickly to give back to him.

This is one of my all-time fav books. Right up there with Jonathan Livingstone Seagull. Super-good. :-)

I read this probably 15 years ago, but I just didn’t get it. Which is probably more a reflection of who I was 15 years ago rather than a fault of the book.

Pooh is totally connected with his inner self and I learned a lot from this book. Why cant we all be this way?

~ John Lee ~ time to get busy on the new and fulfilling goal
Winnie the Pooh is very much in tune with his inner self – Eyeore always has a problem to face, rabbit is always calculating, but pooh is just content, living in the moment.
Pooh enjoys simple pleasures : honey and tossing twigs in the stream with Christopher Robin.
The author cleverly contrasts Pooh to the other characters. The result is not only an understanding of Taoism, but also a deeper understanding of my childhood friend.

I did an online request for the Tao of Pooh from my library so I should have it by mid-week. In the mean time I have already set up a better reading area for myself so I can dive deeper into the world of books.

A very impressive read. I read it in a single sitting (ok, a single warm bathtime – 2 refills) and loved the way the basic concepts of Taoism were introduced in such an easy-to-digest manner. I’ve had no real experience of Taoism or Pooh, but since my mum gave me the book and the print was quite large, I though I’d read it.
Good stuff, would recommend it to anyone. If you have it sitting there unread, I’d recommend you just get started – it’ll finish itself in no time with no effort – very Taoist in itself, it seems :)
