Keepsake Collector Box 2 years ago

Here’s another type of Collector Box I’d like to get. I love this Family Photo Tree idea I think making them as gifts for family members would be nice. :-) I would love to get a personal gift like that.

Specimen Collector Box 2 years ago

I’d also love to purchase a few of these Collector Boxes to use as shadow box memories of items our scrapbooks cannot comfortably hold.

    Description:
Even ordinary objects become works of art when beautifully arranged and displayed in our finely crafted collector boxes. Boxes used to preserve and display botanical, entomological, and other natural specimens in museums inspired our traditional design. Use them to showcase souvenirs, baby mementos, pressed flowers, seashells, and other collectibles.

Classic Accordion Photo Folder With Photo Corners 2 years ago

I’d like to get a few of these Classic Accordion Photo Folders as they are inexpensive and easy solutions to mini-vacation albums.

Decorative Border Labels 2 years ago

I bought these Decorative Border Labels thinking I’ll do something with them either for scrapbooking or photo lavbels or such.

    Description:
You’ll find hundreds of uses for this broad assortment of labels, from organizing storage containers to gift wrapping. Look for coordinating craft papers, food packaging and embellishments from Martha Stewart Crafts.

Satin Photo Corners 2 years ago

These Satin Photo Corners are a must have for scrapbooking. They’re not too pricey and come in a variety of colours.

    Description:
These satin ribbon photo corners lend a touch of elegance to your albums and collector box displays while securely holding photos in place.

Library Pocket Cards 2 years ago

I bought some Library Pocket Cards too. These will be very useful for our scrapbook as we have several sentimental odds and ends to hold.

    Description:
We’ve given the traditional library pocket card a rich color and a new destination: your scrapbooks and memory albums. Use them to record the history of a special book or memento or tuck a special message inside. Also great for use as gift tags or for journaling. These cards match our fabric-covered photo albums.

    6” X 8” Walnut Accordion Album 2 years ago

I also bought this Accordion Album last week.

    Description:
An elegant fabric cover makes our portable, accordion-fold album pretty enough to display on a table or mantel. It’s also perfect for traveling. For a great gift, fill one with photos and add coordinating embellishments from our collection to make a charming mini scrapbook of a camping trip, graduation day, Sweet 16 party, or other occasion.

It was only $10 so not bad. It’s cute for a mini-scrapbook I think. I’m going to attempt something like the picture.

Floral Lace Edge Punch 2 years ago

I bought a Floral Lace Edge Punch last week.

    Description:
One of our favorite tools, this precision edge punch lets you create a continuous floral eyelet border design that perfectly matches our eyelet stationery, party accessories, and other embellishments. Make a beautiful floral lace paper trim for a buffet table, or create cut-out borders on cards and scrapbook pages.

I think it will prove to be a very useful tool for scrapbooking and other crafts as well.

Sub-total: $153.38 for the Travel Scrapbook! 2 years ago

Here is the total to get each thing to make this Martha Stewart Travel Scrapbook. Yikes! Of course I’ll be trying to wait for sales ;-)

The Art of Scrapbooking 2 years ago

There truly is an art to this… it is more than just pasting photos on a page with a sticker/paper theme.

Mark and I decided that if we’re going to do this, we’re going to do it right! We want a stylish and organised scrapbook that we can look back on and be proud of. Nothing frilly but something that describes US and how we’ve lived our life… colours, patterns, and fonts that we love. We don’t want it to be too busy or overloaded with photos or decorations on each page.

Well, after having a look I decided the BEST choice for us would be to go all Martha Stewart products, as they’re most similar to our style and what we’re looking for.

So, I took a trip to Michael’s, a local craft store. Well, upon looking at her line I became a tad disappointed. The line is beautiful, yet pricey. I was hoping to save money by purchasing the collection one expensive item at a time with the 40% off coupons which Michael’s often has in their flyers.

However, while trying to cash out the cashier informed me that the Martha Stewart line cannot be used with the coupons. Pffft! So, my bright idea of buying the things as I get the 40% off coupons is gone!

At the end of the day, I’m still going to purchase the items. I’m trying to wait to a bit to see if Martha’s products will ever go on any sort of a sale there. If they don’t within a month I’ll start buying more so I can get going. I still need to purchase the stamping kit, pad, more craft punches, paper kits, and more accessories.

Lesson learned is that scrapbooking is expensive. I came home with very little last week but it totaled over 30 dollars! Still, I’m very excited to get going on this project starting with a couple travel scrapbooks!
