I found a group on meetup.com-All classic literature, which I love. I’ll be going to my first meeting in a couple weeks for Fitzgerald’s This Side of Paradise. I hope I like the group!
How I did it: After 6 meetings, my mother and I only made it to one event. I did all the reading and the title we were to discuss was my favorite so far. Nobody else got it or liked it, and when my mom flaked again the following month, I threw in the towel.

This must be fate (except I’m not sure I believe in that).
I found one meeting not too far from me and they’re reading a book I borrowed from someone that has been gathering dust. I started the book and liked it but never finished it. So I’m going to try to finish it before next week when the group meets.
I am an artost writer currently confined to a long-term care convalescent hospital after a a serious accident I am a vivid reader and make monthly trips to our local library to retrieve a large complement of books who’s titles I glean from my book club catalogs.
every month or so.
I have very diverse interests in subjects ranging from social issues, politics, psychology ancient and modern history, art poetry, astrophysics and other sciences, and short stories and essays
As a writer, I ‘ve written several short stories, travelogs of places I’ve been, many poems, and even a full length play based on my many years in the performing on stage and other venues. Even though I’ve submitted many manuscripts for publication, I have not yet been published to date It’s a continuing task. I am actively contacting theaterical artist directors about my three act play and other creative concepts ready for writing.
My watercolor paintings of landscacpes ,floral still lifes and abstractions have recently been selling to our staff, visitors and residents. They seem to like the “spiritual” connections I present.
I really value being in contact with otherswho have similar interests since many of our residents are incommunacardo and have little interests outside of their restricted world. I help where I can by giving readings and art workshops.
However, my goal is to attain a level of recovery and enter society again.I would like to relocate to some more creative supportive small community where values and interconnectedness are prevalent. We seem to be loosing theseaspects of living as people now focus on the accumulation of things without regard for any degree of spiritual values.
I am considering places like northern California, Oregon or even the Washington Olympic Pensulia
I Am looking forward to hearing from like minds.—Cassandra Cleary

about this group of people who also travel, who have a catche of places to leave books, and pickem up. you basically leave the book you have read for the new book you pickup and you leave your review of the book for the next reader.
sounds fun, interesting, and cheap.
Try this book club out its free. www.paperbackswap.com. This is almost like going to a library only you don’t have to, and you get rid of the books that you have read.
No groups at Vintage Books, and no times I can attend at Barnes & Noble. Waiting to hear from Cover to Cover. Maybe I should try the college.
I have recently joined:
http://www.bookgrouponline.com/forum/
which is a quite nice online book club. I haven’t fully explored it yet, but it has many book categories to suit all tastes and a lot of friendly participants. We’ll see how it goes ;-)
I’d love to join a book group with other bookophiles. But, where to find one??? Barnes and Nobles hosts only a mystery book club—not my cup o’ tea, and my city isn’t….large. Any suggestions?
