im learning spanish….but i don’t speak it very well.
How to learn a foreign language fluently
How I did it: I've study all my life in a french scool, but to learn German, a great thing is to go to the foreign country you want to learn the language
This important European language is quite difficult to learn, but gives you access to one of the world's great economies as well as to a wealth of cultural material.
You have to want to learn the language, not just wish. It's no magic power of the will, just that you will have to stuy on your own for some months, and everything will rest in your hands. For example, a speaker of a romance language (french, italian, spanish, portuguese, romanian, ...) can learn another in less than 200 hours. Yet he has to work during these hours, and if he's weak-willed he will probably stop after 30 hours, then go back, then stop again and never finish.
Lessons & tips: read a lot and try to talk the maximum in that language
Go on the trip alone, so you won't be tempted to speak your monther tongue all the time
Always carry a deck of blank flash cards and write down all the words you don't understand
Make a point of never going to bed before you have translated all the day's flash cards (some you won't be able on your own, leave them aside and ask your teacher). Then sleep a night on the new flash cards, and review them all one time the next day.
Resources: theater books
