RoniPip is getting ready for fall/winter
About a week & half ago, a friend gave me the name of her sister who plays the ukelele and said she’s willing to show me a few things.
How I did it: Well, if you don't have ukulele at first, what I did was put a capo on a guitar and tie up the two low strings with a thick piece of paper.Put the capo on the 5th fret and just play the 4 strings. It'll be a great substitute until your ukulele arrives. It's wonderful practice till you get there. Read how I did it…

This ukulele seems to be a good starter one: Lanikai Concert.
After some research, it seems the Concert size has a pretty decent tone (the Soprano may sound too tinny) and Lanikai seems to be a good brand.
Watched some online video snippets of ukulele demos.
I’m debating whether to get a hard case or soft case. The hard case of course is more protective. The soft case is lighter (and cheaper).

I want to be able to sing while playing the ukulele – for fun. I like how it’s very portable and I think my small fingers will fit it much better than the guitar.
I had always wanted to play the guitar, but at this point I think the ukulele will better suit me.
I saw someone play it a few weeks ago – it sounded great with her voice (she had an Irish/Celtic voice). She played a song she learned from YouTube. I later made up a song and sang it while she played.
Plan:
1. Buy a used ukulele or a good beginner one.
2. Take lessons.
3. March 2010.

Well, after I finished my revision last night I decided to get out my ukulele again and play some Death Cab For Cutie songs. Well. Chords. I just took the guitar chords for I Will Follow You Into The Dark, Talking Bird, and Marching Bands of Manhattan. I still sound like an amateur… But I guess that’s ok, because I still am one ^^

I played ‘Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots’ by the Flaming Lips today. I printed out the chord sheets the day I got my ukulele, which was Christmas, 2007. It made me realise that I really need to practise more, but also how worthwhile playing ukulele is! It’s a nice change from playing cello all the time… cos I’m working towards grade 7 on cello, I feel so much pressure about it… But with ukulele, I can just play whatever songs I want!

Well, I just looked up some new songs to play. Got ‘I Will Follow You Into the Dark’ by Death Cab for Cutie, but I’m not sure that I want to play it because it’s a beautiful song and… I don’t want to ruin it!

I’ve had my ukulele for a year now, and I really haven’t played it enough. I need to find more songs I want to play.
I got my soprano ukulele in november of 08 and i’m getting pretty good at it now. Fairly easy to learn and SO much fun! I would definitely recommend this for anyone else. Plus my friends think its neat since no one else in my school has one XD.
I packed my uke! I’ll be bringing it with me to that place with the sand and the oil. Hopefully it survives the trip in its new case
I was vacationing in Hawaii (The Big Island) 3 weeks ago with my family, and I caught the uke bug. The ukulele has a great sound that just makes you smile. It is also much more accessible than the guitar—you can play it in a car, have one in the office, etc.
When I got home I bought a used uke on eBay and have been practicing with it for a few days now.
