Adrienne will be absent while taking strides for goal #1.

Started when I was a freshman in college 3 years ago

I have literally killer allergies. I also have asthma and some less than killer allergies, unless already under stress (of a medical sort).

After facing a bout of anaphalactic shock for the 3rd time or so, the doctor suggested I get a medic alert bracelet. I was over 1000 miles from home and people I knew, so when I asked my parents, they got me my pick of bracelets and I’ve been registered ever since (about 11 years now.)

I did take it off during my children’s first few months of life. This is probably a really dumb time to take it off because if anything happened to me and I was given medicines that are every day use for everyone else but me, my infants would be left motherless. However, I also did not want to scratch my babies heads and bodies with the bracelet. My daughter, as an infant, seemed especially breakable, which led to my not wearing the bracelet.

I’m on my second or third bracelet because, after time, the clasps break, the chains stretch, and I just like something else. The bracelets can be as pretty or manly or to your taste as you like. They have a large variety.

Even when the budget is tight, the registery is something my husband never argues with. Pictured is the bracelet I currently wear.

This should probably be number one, since it’s kind of life-or-death important… But then again, these goals are listed in the order in which I thought of them rather than importance, since that sort of ranking tends to make me itch.
