paopidoodles is doing great!
so far, so good. — 4 weeks ago
I’m starting to enjoy drawing more :)
I’m also keeping a sketch blog now, http://paopi.tumblr.com, so I can “force” myself to draw more :P

Finished this a while ago. :D
I’m starting a new project so I might relist this.

... mainly because I’ve been ill for the last few days so I’ve spent a great deal of time in bed, surrounded by art material chaos (which has cheered me up between the sneezing and coughing!)

I’m obsessed about dating everything I do for reference, which is really helping me keep active about this… at a glance I can see how long it may have been since I last did anything in my sketchbook, and if it’s been quite a while, guilt makes me do something about it! :)

I’m getting there with this one, albeit not as quickly as I’d like… but I’ve been doing a few pages a day, and I’ve challenged myself to finish this in 2 months which should be doable I think!

I’ve always had a tendency to get half way through a sketchbook and either give up or find an idea that I then take further on a larger scale and end up ignoring the rest of the sketchbook entirely.
At the moment I’m working on less of a sketchbook as such, more like an ideas book, even though it’s based around a specific subject and is sketches and paintings… it’s turned more into a book all about trying different techniques and playing with different surfaces, as well as recording random thoughts, so I can really see myself using it as a reference for future projects, which is obviously quite handy!
AbsenceofFear is feeling very grateful for her life.
I have a stockpile of sketchbooks, and usually have several going at once. I would like to learn to complete one before going on to the next. I am toooo picky about paper versus the medium I am using.
it’s not that I can’t draw right now..
it’s just that what I’ve been sketching has no soul
it’s so lifeless.
Worth doing!
I’m probably about halfway through my sketchbook, but I have a bad habit of ripping out everything I actually like. I also rip out everything I can’t stand seeing. After I’ve removed all the pieces with charcoal or chalk or pastel (I’m neurotic about not smudging anything), and after I’ve removed all the half-pages of watercolor animals, I pretty much have nothing LEFT except warm-up sketches!
There’s actually a reason for this rampant rippin’; I’m taking an AP course right now, and my portfolio is due in a month or somethin’. I’ve been making a big mountain of pieces I like so I have real CHOICE in what to shoot! But still. My sketchbook looks awfully hollow and empty right now!
I also need to do more pencil sketches. I’m an eraser addict, so to combat that, I’ve been using pretty much only markers and watercolors for the last few weeks, but I need to get more pencil sketches up ASAP!
