Finally learned it! 7 months ago

This past Sunday, 11/23, was when I first learned the basics of pilates with 2 hospital patients while I was supervising them. It was an amazing experience. I really felt the powerhouse workin’ there, AND I felt more awake, centered, and relaxed.

I look forward to learning more about this type of workout so as to help with my lower back and neck pains.

I managed to do Pilates on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, so that was 4 times in between classes. I also did it again today, and I have bought a theraband for stretching.



This week 12 months ago

I might try and do this a few times. I had a lesson yesterday and did about half an hour today, because the weather was so bad I’ve been inside most of the day. I did roll-downs, arm circles, hip rolls, leg drops, pelvic tilts, oysters and abs, followed by hamstring, glute and calf stretches. I have a day off on Friday, so this is one of the things I can do then.

Tonite, after work, I got out ‘the book’ and reacquainted myself with ‘The Hundred’.

Things were working out well, some good stretching and such.

I threw in a few advanced yoga poses for my right shoulder…and then – I fell asleep ..right in the middle of a good workout!

What the … ??

Tonight I hunted out my un-read copy of ‘The Pilates Promise’ by Alycea Ungaro from the depths of the spare room cupboard…..

i did ramona’s pilates workout last night…i’m in better shape then i thought i was. i’m still on her beginner dvd but as soon as i master her int/adv then i’ll check this off…i’ll also rotate ramona with stott since stott is a little slower and more controlled i can’t do it every time because it takes longer

I want to do this so often that it becomes worth it to buy a pilates machine. (which can anyone recommend a quality cheap one?)

i use to do pilates at least three times a week but haven’t done any in about 4 months, i really notice a difference in my body when i do so i really need to fit this back into my workout rotation
