The doc said my eyes are suitable for Lasik and I could get both of them done in one day. Scheduled my appointment for 2 weeks later and nervously waiting for it. But this is something I will definitely want to do for myself.

How to get corrective eye surgery"It was the best thing I have ever done! Quick and easy...a little expensive, but well worth it!"
How I did it: My vision was about 20/450. I could only see 6 inches in front of my face. That means without glasses I couldn't see the alarm clock, the floor, nor could I put on makeup unless I had my contacts in. Yes, the mirror is only 6 inches away, but my image was 12 inches away and I couldn't see it. LOL. Lessons & tips: Don't be as scared as I was. It honestly doesn't hurt!!!! They numb your eyes so well that you feel nothing. WEAR YOUR GOGGLES! If you rub your eyes in the night, you could ruin them. Also, for you women, you cannot wear makeup for two weeks until your eyes heal. They are more worried about powder than anything else. It can get in the grove of the incision when it is trying to heal. Resources: www.lasikeyesurgery.com |

How I did it: I decided in March to get it done. I got a reference to a surgeon from a friend I knew who had it done, he was happy with their work 2 years later, so I decided on them. I scheduled a preliminary visit in April, I saw my normal eye doctor next to verify exactly how much they'd need to correct my prescription, and then I scheduled surgery over Memorial day weekend. I went in Friday at 10am. 24 hours later I could se… Read how I did it…

How I did it: I went to my normal eye appointment, and then I asked my doctor about it. He has been my doctor for 10 years so I trusted his referral. Two weeks later I went for my initial consultation, where my eyes were measured and I received more info. I set a date a month from there to get the procedure done and that was that! I have my surgery tomorrow, about to find out whether i’m approved for the financing or if I have to put it on my credit card.
UGH.
I may have to put off the surgery for 1 week because of the hold up with the house closing. Either way my eyes should be fixed on 5/15 or 5/22
panzerkunst is published!
Sent off for info on Lasik. Now they’re spamming me, but maybe I’ll make an appointment.
My eye surgery is now scheduled for mid-may. I should be fully healed by June 1.
FoOLiShxLaDy is determined!
I KNOW I should get this done, my eye sight keeps getting worse but honestly, the thought of eye surgery makes me all jrw8ur983u89u!! You know? Haha. Considering I dont have eye insurance anymore, I have some time to build up the courage to get this done.
I’ve scheduled a Dilated Fundus and Cycloplegic Refraction exam on April 29th.
I had the consultation last night. It’s going to cost about $4300 if I get the surgery before the End of May, after May it’s $5300. Talk about high pressure sales. You don’t want the ‘dollar menu’ when it comes to someone cutting your eye with a laser, but we’re talking serious coin here.
Still, they have a 24 month 0% Financing Same as Cash available. That’s less than $200 a month, I can manage that.
Now I’ve just got to make an appointment with my eye doctor to get the pre-screening visit out of the way.
I’ve Got the consultation on Tuesday, but apparently, even if I’m a candidate I can’t get the surgery until after we close on the house. Apparently a large purchase or ‘credit finance’ before the closing could jeopardize the entire mortgage.
So it’s a consult on the 7th, maybe I can do the pre-surgery exam during April, but i’m going to have to wait until May or later to get the actual surgery.
Totally forgot to ask my boss if I could leave an hour early for the appointment. The doctor is only an hour away, but rush hour on a tuesday, I’d rather get there with time to spare and just wait around than be stuck in traffic and missing my appointment.
