List 43 things I love about myself

I have a great imagination! It helps me write – but it also helps me create my wonderful life. Whatever we can imagine, we can create.

I have always been overweight, but the one part of my body I have always been ok with are my boobs! I like their size and shape. I like that they offer a comfortable resting place for tired or upset children. I like that they are a source of pleasure and fun for J! (and me!) And I like the way my cleavage looks in lower cut tops.

For so many reasons! I’m thankful that I can see all the beauty in my life, that I am able to look upon the people I love and that my life has been made easier in so many ways because I was blessed with sight.

Also – I actually kinda like the look of my eyes.. the colour and shape – even the ‘laugh lines’ at the corners! They’re sort of pretty!

I love my family. Every single crazy one of them! I would do anything for family, and I like that about myself. I like that I recognise how lucky I am to have a happy, supportive, wonderful family – I love them to bits!

Really listen. When someone is talking, it is very easy to just vaguely listen while you’re thinking of what you’re going to say next and waiting for your turn. I hate it when others do that to me, and I really hate it when I find myself doing it… so I’ve trained myself not to!

Over the years, I have learnt to always try to see things from the other person’s point of view.

This quality means that people who know me will talk to me about things that they wouldn’t dream of telling anyone else because they know I wont judge them.

Generally, people behave and speak from their heart, so there is always a good reason for what we may see as inappropriate behaviour. I dont mean that to sound condescending, I’ve just realised lately that not everybody tries to understand why someone thinks or acts the way they do when it appears to be socially unacceptable. I guess maybe it’s a sense of empathy? I am able to have empathy for (most, I’m not a saint!) people.

I will always back up my friends and family, I never sit back and say nothing if I hear someone running them down or spreading lies. My loyalty also means that I will have the ‘difficult’ conversations with friends if I think their behaviour/ actions are not doing them justice. It means that I have gathered around me a group of souls who do exactly the same for me.

I’ve had many different hair colours over the years – pretty much everything from blonde to black and every shade inbetween!

But my current hair colour, which is kind of close to my natural colour, is my favourite!

I’m a ‘voluptuous’ woman (nice way of saying fat chick!) so I’ve always had body issues of some sort. But there have always been parts of my body that I love. The small of my back is one of them.

That deep curve where my back transforms into my bum seems to just translate into femininity and sensuality to me. It makes me feel sexy.

My sense of humour has been described as many things by family and friends… strange, weird, twisted, abstract, dry, purile, ridiculous… the list goes on and on!

I enjoy both obvious and subtle humour, but I guess I do find odd things funny! What I like most about my sense of humour is that I can smile and laugh about myself, whatever is happening… it eases the pain of life.
