open a homeless shelter

In my city is an old brewery that closed down a few years ago. I have such a grand vision of this enormous peice of property being transformed into a homeless shelter, safe house, rehabilitation center and more!

My husband is a minister and his started a liscensed ministry called “The River Ministries”. When we moved here that ministry was put on hold as he took an existing church from a retiring pastor. But this old brewery is on a river and it just feels so perfect.

I would love to get your input.

I want to open a shelter for our young women who are struggling dont have anywhere to go, anyone to talk to or to help them out when needed. I just need to know how i would go about doing this… This has been one of the things that i have wanted to do for years but i never i had the resources.

My family and I usually get up about 4am every Saturday morning and start the task of preparing the food to be given out to the homeless for that day. I would like to starte a shelter for youths that age out of foster care. I have a lot of ideas and have struggled for years to get my project off the ground.

I would like to start a shelter for Vets that would like to be on their own. Also for the homeless.

Given the state of the economy in America now, we are in a desperate time where we must take back our communities and infuse a mark of change and new direction in them. The homeless problem has been a blemish on America for many years and overlapping that with the drug problems and domestic issues that emulate from it, there must be some way to give back to a community desperate to adjust but lost in how to do so. The organization that I belong to reaches out to the masses and provides limited space for those serious about taking the steps to return to society. Our organization is looking to procure a site to create an emergency homeless shelter and infuse programs and assistance to the community to create jobs, affordable housing to stimulate the community in efforts to turn back the degredation homelessness has caused.
