To NYC: I appreciate ‘meeting’ you. You are an intelligent and thoughtful person. Thank you for inviting me to the Daily 5 Grateful list and exposing me to many new bright and insightful people. Happy birthday and best wishes for a great new year.

Wow, I sure wish you could have celebrated with us last night. You would have been a huge hit at our party, and would have received much love and TLC in return.

I hope that whatever you ended up doing, you had LOTS of fun and received ALL the love and TLC you deserve, which according to all of us is a lot!!

And I thought, “How to adequately wish such a wondrous soul a blessing filled birthday? What words encapsulate all I would want to say?”

So I waited.

And waited.

And waited.

It was (and is) a contemplative sort of day.

Today I auditioned for the Vagina Monologues – and chose a monologue about childbirth. I wondered what NYCinephile’s birth was like… and wondered if the light in the room shone a little brighter because he had arrived.

I went to church, a different service than normal, where we sang traditional hymns. We sang, “The Church’s One Foundation” and I was soaring an octave higher than the man next to me, who I had never met before. A couple verses into the song he chose to sing harmonies and I almost experienced transcendence during the singing. It is so soulful, harmonizing – his voice was so rich and spirit-filled, deep… and there I was, being almost coloratura soprano high… it sounded so pretty. And I recalled all the harmonizing NYCinephile does here, just in being himself, and I was, once again – grateful.

I walked around an art gallery today and found other artists feel the need to walk me through their work, which I politely reflected to them what was special about their work. I asked them questions and queried about certain touches they filled their art with, and I thought about how NYCinephile is both an artist and a patron of the arts with his inspiration of others here, with their goals the medium and the canvas, 43things.

So I sat down here, at the keyboard, and even as I continue to type I think words are not enough.

So, dear one, I trust you can feel the joyful admiration I feel for you and the gratitude in my heart that you were, in fact, born on this date…. and have continued to bless the world ever since.

May today bring you many pleasant surprises and may the moments of the future open in ways more spectacular than you can even imagine.
