Okay, I got an iPhone for GV. Verizon is offering the iPhone 4 for free with a 2 yr contract. Considering I’ve lasted longer than the original company I started out with in 1995 and each subsequent company has been bought out buy another, I’m now to Verizon, that bought out Alltel. I’ve been a customer now for 17.5 yrs, maybe a little longer. Wow!
I think if you make 10 yrs with a company being a patron with a good payment history, they should give you special discounting, like 10% off your bill. If you’ve been with the company 15 yrs – 15%, 20 yrs – 20%.
Anyway, I now have a contact at Verizon to call for stuff like this and he will see what he can do for me. He’s in Tampa, FL and he’s given me his direct line. Eventually, I’ll want to add another line for our kids, at least 1, if not 2.
It’ll cost another $40 to add this new line for GV. Got the phone # and it’s a really good phone #. Love all the #s.
I’m also going to get an Otterbox Defender protector case for it on Amazon. The Verizon guy was understanding that if I can get it for nearly free with my gift cert from Amazon, it’s a better deal than the $37+tax I would pay at Verizon with a 20% discount.
I think I will end up paying maybe $1 or so for the protective case and it will be in Camouflage, which GV loves. This smartphone will be a huge upgrade from what he already has and this phone is way nicer than mine. I have a basic phone.
Though I’m due for an upgrade, right now I don’t want to do an upgrade. That will cost me an additional $30+tax and then another $10 to up my plan to one that accommodates 2 smartphones. Right now, my plan allows me to have 1 smartphone and as many basic phones as I want.
When GV and I start making decent money, we’ll get the kids their own line (will give my phone to them and upgrade to a smartphone possibly).
This was the happy medium to get 1 smartphone rather than 2. I hope GV will be very happy with the iPhone 4. He currently has a very old cell that still has T9. 7 months ago
