stop judging people before i know them

extremely judgemental. It needs to stop.

recently, I became friends with a guy that I’d always thought to be a dirty, spoilt, no talent metal head.

Turns out when I stopped being such a bitch and actually got to know him he is like. Amazingly sweet. Caring. Really musically and artistically talents. Speaks German. He’s even the oldest of 6 kids, not including half siblings, and two of them have autism.

Finding out about how.. not what I thought he was, that he really is, not only made me feel incredibley embarassed but completely crap.

And now we’re dating.

it’s creepy, and elitist. it’s a total disrespect of another human being. it’s not who i am or want to be, and there’s no use putting it off anymore.

I don’t want people to judge me, so what gives me the right to be a hypocrite and judge everyone else before giving them a chance? Treat others as you want to be treated.

not to be judgemental. And in general, I’m not an extremely judgemental person. I do however, find myself looking at other people and comparing them to myself. And its not fair to them, or to myself. I have no idea what is going on in their lives, why they look the way they do, or talk the way they do, or are the way they are. Sometimes, I see somebody and wish I could have their life without even knowing what their life is like. And sometimes I see somebody and thank goodness I’m me. But really, I should just be happy with my life, and try and learn about others, without comparison. Because nobody could really understand another person’s life, 100%. We all have different perspectives, and thats why it’s so amazing to learn about other people. Without judging or comparing!

I realized that i don’t like a lot of people that i don’t even know. so yeah…. i want to not judge people before i know them (which is hard (especially w/ myspace and being able to read about them))
