I now have five rolls of afghan strips that I’ve made out of Warm Up America strips. I didn’t want to make an afghan, but clearly I am and should just get over it and finish up my project. So far, everything I’ve knit up has come from my stash or been friend’s odd balls. Yesterday, I went to a craft store and bought acrylic yarn to finish it off. They were having a big sale and I figured that was my sign to actually do this. I wasn’t certain how much it would take, but I can take anything left over and use it for my other charity projects.
I’d like to finish this off either in January or February and ship it out.
so the pattern i had been using was way too complicated (4 layer shell pattern) and i could only work on it when i had nothing else around to distract me. i took what i had done of it so far and just turned it into a shawl. now i’m working on a zig-zag pattern that is much more friendly to casual crocheting.
still need to plug along more at it, though.
