I bought a book by www.aniphyo.com on raw food desserts. So far, I’ve only made fruit-based popsicles. There’s lots of stuff I’d love to make for pot lucks.

After suffering from shingles, insomnia, brain fog, etc I want to feel alert, sleep well, have heaps of energy, glowing skin, be eczema free and just feel lovely :-)

I want to start by sprouting seeds and things, cutting out wheat, sugar, dairy and finding an idiots guide website or book on how to start to detox my mind and body.

I just read about making tofu jerky and now I really want a dehydrator. I know some raw foods people say no to tofu, but I personally love it. And I love jerky. The problem is these dehydrators (the ones that have good reviews anyway) are so expensive!!

I’m looking into food dehydrators now. It’s hard to think about food and look at recipes since I’m doing the master cleanse, but I’m thinking I might invest in one once I’m done with the master cleanse. Potato Chips and Apple Chips here I come!

So I’m doing the Master Cleanse (Day 1!) and I decided that before I started on that, I should change my eating habits to make transitioning into the Cleanse easier. I’ve been reading Natalie Rose’s The Raw Food Detox Diet and looking up recipes online. I started on 3/18 by eating mostly raw. I also started drinking a lot of water throughout the day (but I stopped drinking anything with meals, since I read that it dilutes your digestive juices and makes it harder for your body to digest food, leading to you storing more fat than necessary). I also don’t eat fruit at night and I won’t eat fruit in combination with other foods except leafy greens.

While my eating habits weren’t as bad as some people’s, I hardly ever ate fresh fruit and veggies before and I never drank enough water. My body really started detoxing in the last week as a result of these changes! I got a cold, was having headaches for the first four days (thanks to no caffeine!) and for two days was having hot and cold flashes. But now I feel amazing! I’ve felt happier and less stressed out at work, even though we’re getting busier.

I’m planning on going back to a mostly raw diet once I finish the cleanse. Can’t wait!!

I’ve been a high-raw (and sometimes 100% raw) vegan for a couple of years, just about (vegan for 8 years). I have a hard time not cheating myself by taking a few days off from raw, and just eating things I love, like roasted potatoes and homemade cookies.

I always feel awful when I do that, both physically and mentally. I need to find a way to continually strive to eat MORE raw, no matter my current “raw” percentage.

I do much better when I log or am thinking of logging. I slipped up for a couple of days and today when I realized I wasn’t keeping my food log I shaped up and was conscious of what I was shoving in my mouth.
Today:
Kashi Gluten Free Cereal
Almond Milk
Agave
Raw Pizza
raw Nori nut/avo rolls
Sun steeped Tea chilled w agave
Gluten free choco chunk cookies
Water



Still Eating Raw 5 months ago

I didn’t have the kashi cereal yesterday for dinner, i ate more kimchi and mushroom salad – yeah. It really is good, the ginger in it is superb. Oh and that Bunny Spice was AMAZING. A great dessert cause I was wanting something dessert-like.

Anyhoo, today had more Kimchi (the rest) with dehyrdrated slices of onions, peppers, tomatoes, and zucchini – yummo. i ate most of those like chips. and then cause i was still hungry (or greedy) i wrapped some inside some sprout bread (again i warmed it up in the microwave, gotta stop this) and ate it with thousand isle dressing (ditto on stopping this too).

i’ll prob have some type of smoothie for dessert and kashi cereal later, or maybe now. its late afternoon and im hungry.

gonna try sprouting lentils, but i may try that this wknd when im less busy.



Eating More Raw til 100% 5 months ago

I want to slide into 100% raw so I’m gonna do mostly raw til then and use this as a food diary to keep track.

Today:
Bunny Spice (from Raw Food Real World—great raw recipe book btw)
Homemade Kim Chi and Marinated Mushrooms wrapped in Ezeikal Sprouted Bread (nuked for 30 secs) topped with thousand Isle dressing.
Lot of Water
I’ll probably have kashi cereal, almond milk, and fruit for dinner (I don’t follow typical breakfast/lunch/dinner rules). Can’t wait til this wknd, I’m gonna tackle making some kind of raw pie or cake.
