It feels really nice to have toughts of gratitude and apreciation when every bite is occounted for. It has helped me to apreciate when I have smaller portions because I feel satisfied before I feel stuffed…

Yesterday I had replaced fillings that were at least 25 years old, in a molar at the back of my mouyh, the tooth is fine but my jaw is sore for having had to open so wide, so I have to be very mindful next week as not to chew with the antiseptic previous to the actual filling, even tough it was painful, it will help me towards this goal.

And ate with my family often. Then I trained as a phisician and the crazy work hours and the rush to get all things done got me to to point of just gulfing up my sustenance instead of chewing and enjying more the precious gift of food. This is a worthy goal, please, everyone try it…I certainly will, CHEERS

I am reviewing my goals and it is so clear I have yet to get anywhere with this one. Argh.

I am eating the right things, but still need to improve my relationship with food in certain things, I guess. Meaning, to think about it as being an act where I have to be present, and not just zoom through it. 35-50 chews is the goal, depending on the food item.

...I am still so far away from my 35-chews-per-bite goal, or my holding sips in my mouth before swallowing goal. Need to get better, that is all I have to say, and not scarf down my food.

Need to focus. Swallowed chunks of rye bread with very little chewing, as with most of my food. Need to eat slowly, like I did yesterday in the Lebanese food restaurant.
In the past few days I’ve become more aware of the fact that I’ve created a vicious circle with eating. I am stressed but I know I need to eat so I eat, but quickly to get it over, then my digestion is very slow cos there’s probably lots of unchewed food sitting in my stomach and it makes me worry about being sick (phobia of mine)...so then I get more stressed about eating cos I’m thinking about how long I’ll be uncomfortable for after. If I chewwww my food slowly and thoroughly to a pulp/liquid then my stomach will process it more effectively and I won’t be left worrying about feeling sick as often (I hope!)
Must remember this one…
I’ve just eaten a chicken kiev following this approach and I feel ok so far so I’m hopeful I can keep it up!
