joined the tennis and road running clubs at uni. As well as still going out running with my local club. As long as I can keep it up and not let uni work over rule things then i think this goal is done.
How to play more sports
How I did it: I've always been interested in sports but throughout high school i just quit evrything. Really regret it now. So i decided to take a stance and try and get more invovled again. So i joined the gym to try and get my fitness up to give me a little confiedence first. Then i started signing up for races which is when i joined mt running club. Then a few months later when i got back into uni i decided a fresh start was in order and so i signed up for a couple of clubs, not just to play sports but to meet new people is equally as important to me. And so far so good.
I'm really happy now, i get to play in the team and been out on some great nights out. I hope things stay like this.
Lessons & tips: Just being brave and getting invovled is the biggest hurdle. I used to hate getting my legs out so when i first started running i always wore trousers. But after a while and a lot of telling off you realise that not only is it more comfortable running in shorts but no one cares about what you look like. Sports are about having fun and enjoying what you're doing. Thats why you shouldnt have any reservations about joining in or trying something new.

while on holiday in switzerland. So much fun! Really want to do this again but its also giving me a wee buzz to go out and try some more adventure sports.
ive started to take private tennis lessons to make me more confident on the court. Yesterday was my first club match of the year and we done rather well. We won all 3 sets, but so did our who team so im not sure whether ive gotten better or the other team just werent that great. But i suppose ive i look at it as a comfortable win it still sounds really good. Got another match next week so hopefully the momentum will contiune for that.
I still feel like i could be out playing more though. I just need to feel a bit better at simply joining in or trying something new.
today was my first time at the running club and it was pretty tough going but really enjoyed it. I was really nervous before because even though i went with my friend and her neighbour i was worried about what to say to the other folk there, but there was no need to be. The woman i spoke to most had also ran in the two 5ks i’d done so we had that in common at least. I was also worried about trailing behind but i wasnt the weakest there someone else had to sit out for a wee bit and i managed to go the whole way so quite happy about that too.
It was really tiring but it was sprit training we were doing and everyone there was saying its pretty tough but cause everyones altogether its good for it being our first day. Im really happy i did actually go in the end. Looking forward to next week.
The only sport i still play is tennis. when i was younger i played loads of sports; football, tennis, swimming, atheletics etc but tennis is the only one i still play and thats only during the summer months. I fancy trying something new – a team sport. I think despite the obvious physical benifit from sports there is also that social element which i feel like im missing out on.

I never played sports growing up. So, at 27 I am trying to learn what I should have learned at 5. I have seen 5 year olds play better softball than me, but it’s not only funny for observers, I enjoy learning.
I think I’ll mark this off the list. The past year I played on a softball, volleyball and soccer team, while continuing my reg. workout. This year I’ll def. be playing soccer in multiple season, and our volleyball team is re-uniting this summer!
Sheeneena is waiting for the event that will make everything come together...
This is tough because it’s hard finding ppl to play with you and I don’t have money or time to join a sports league. A few friends were supposed to organize a softball tournament…but it doesn’t look like its going to happen. Maybe I’ll look into community recreation centers and see what they have for adults in the summer. I did play volleyball in the winter through a recreation center…so hopefully they have softball too. My work is planning on have a few sporting events in the summer too… I guess I just need to make more effort.
I’ve been playing softball, and I’d like to continue, but I also want to start playing football and volleyball
I quited my sport a year ago… don’t regret it, but now i really need a new challenge!!
I really want to be a skiinstructor, so after the exams, i’m going to start training for it!
