I think I found a house; been chatting with the housemates online and they seem nice. The house looks nice and is in the exact right part of town, and has a pink door… :) I live quite far away so can’t go and view, but that’s ok. The contract has to be from July to July so will have to pay multiple rents for a while even while I’m not living there, but it is half rent over Summer, so that’s ok. Overall good I think !
Not confirmed so I won’t check this off just yet.
How to not be homeless
How I did it: This has been made a little more difficult than usual because I am in a different town at the moment and cannot view. For me the most important thing was the location, and the new house is in the centre of town, near a bus to uni and near to supermarket, so it really is perfect. I have seen a few pictures and chatted with the new housemates, who seem rrreeeeally cool. The room isn't very big but the front door is pink and it is just around the corner from a really pretty park.
Should be good :)

Some things are worse than being homeless…
Sometimes it feels better to sleep under the stars :-)

Smile, and the whole world smiles with you!
Living on a 24 foot Catalina(sailboat), with lots of “character”(aka: leaks when raining). Free rent, and I will probably end up owning her for very little. Sewing up some new cushions ASAP, to get a little bit better character going on, and someone has offered to fix the leaks for free. Made a few good homeless friends, though. Seems like a lot of people “winter” down here, to escape the cold.

was $43 per night. Which is pretty damn expensive for sleeping on dirt, but the cheapest thing available where I live.
Someone has been nice enough to offer me a sailboat to sleep on, for a few weeks. Free, but still no real address.
I guess it’s a wierd type of technical homelessness.
I can think of much worse cities to be homeless in, and am lucky enough to have great people looking out for me. Maybe I can afford to sign a lease, or just live on a boat until I can buy a condo. Hopefully this goes well, but I might as well check this off the list since I have a steady place to live.
Realistically not homeless, but technically so.
me and my significant other recently lost our apartment due to an illegal eviction. we have been sleeping in bus stations and on trains. we have been trying desperately to find ways to make money at the same time.

Well, I was homeless for a little while, about a week. Not exactly homeless like on the street, but I was staying at a motel. But those days are over. Bri and I found a place, it’s a 2 bedroom apartment in Urbana, comes with a basement too. It’s not the best apartment in the world, actually it doesn’t even come close, but it’s a home and that’s all I care about.

we found a place to live…again. this is going to be the 4th time we moved this year. as some of you may know, i was living in a house not too long ago that bri was in the process of buying, but the owner of the property broke the deal off. so anyway, now we are pretty much homeless. we are living out of a motel. i am so sad, but i am coping!!!the best that i can. but, yesterday we found a place to live. it’s not much, but it’s a 2 bedroom apt, somewhat big, not the best place out there but it’s a home i guess. i just wish i were feeling better about all this!
