I need to move my family away from here, and out to the country where my family lives, for safety reasons. However, DH doesn’t want to move. So, I am forced to do it all myself. With God’s help, I can handle it, but my head is spinning, thinking of all I need to do to get the house ready for sale.
I need to:
1)Get the House Clean – This one isn’t far from done, actually.
2)Repair or Replace Broken or Worn Items
3)Paint Doors, Hall, Bathroom, & Decks
4)Remove Things Not Included with the House
5)Weed, Mulch, & Add Flowers to Garden
6)Pack Away Items to be Stored During Sale
I think that’s it. Of course, never having sold a house before, I’m completely ignorant of what it takes to sell one. However, my house was, and still is, the nicest one in the neighborhood (through no fault of mine), so I hope it will go well anyway.

I’ve put a three part action plan into place!
Clean
Declutter
Repair
Ann Maurice and all the programmes tell you that to sell your house you have to clean, clean, clean! So, I thought that’s where I would start with a huge onslaught on the spring cleaning between Christmas and New Year. But why does it always take so much longer than you think. I’ve done the top floor, the lounge, the dining room and almost all of the kitchen, yea!, but that still leaves the hall and the ground floor. That’s still sitting on my to do list.
They also say you have to declutter! But that’s such a huge task, I’ve given it an entry of its own!
Then there are all the jobs that need to be finished around the house. Have to get rid of all those little ‘red flags’ that warn off the buyer. Things I’ve been meaning to get around to for the last 3 years. Why is it we only do them when we are moving out?! It was exactly the same last time I moved. Just when my house was just as I wanted, it was time to move out!
