How to join 43 43Ters in making a claimID page.
It made me
improve my image 
"Manage your online identity."
How I did it: I originally created a claimID page two years ago with the intent of rounding up all the accounts I was publishing content through.
Now that I'm on the cusp of entering the working world, my reasons for having a claimID have changed. The majority of employers allegedly Google first and last names before calling for an interview, and since my Facebook is private--rightfully so, might I add--I want a page to reflect good things about me.
So now I've deleted my old claimID, signed up for a new one, and am in the process of adding appropriate links.
Lessons & tips:
- Pick a claimID username that is the same as or similar to your real name.
- Use MicroID to verify your pages when you can. This creates a "verified" graphic next to the links on your page.
- Make sure all the content you link on your page is for the sake of your goal--no Myspace if you're trying to present a professional image, for example.
- Keep your page updated! If your goals change, make sure your claimID page changes with them. If links change, you'll automatically be e-mailed that they're broken so you can update your page accordingly.

I may come back to this in the future, and I think its a great tool, but I’m not sure I want to do this just yet. I need to give it more consideration.

This was recommended by a friend, and I did it. It’s not completely finished yet, but the main things are there. I try not to be online too much outside of work, and I was looking for some means of managing the sites I reference a lot and of course the sites I write on, especially because I have several monikers. It seems like this will be helpful. I suppose it might also help my friends find all the various things I have written on and participated in…but…is that a good thing? Hmmmm. Anyway, I am glad I am using it. Need to manage and organize. http://claimid.com/ginbaby
