learn how to salsa dance

That likes to dance or teach salsa? I live near seattle and I am looking for fellow learners, beginners, teachers, and dancers that love to salsa dance so I can learn how to do it myself! its a pretty hot dance (-:

ive always wanted to learn how to dance, i have two left feet tho!
its a shame how i dont know….especialy being latin too :(

Ok, so today I accompanied my good buddy Melissa to a free Salsa class. My FIRST. I’ve always fancied myself as a passionate Latina (being half Latina) but I gotta say, I have ABSOLUTELY no sense of body awareness or rhythm—in other words, I fit no stereotype for the hot and rhythmic Latin dancer.

Zilch. Nada. None.

Our instructor (Rene) is Cuban and has been teaching dance for over 40 years. He is the most lithe and sexy 55 year old man I’ve ever seen and can he MOVE. My god.

He’s done choreography for Gloria Estefan and Shakira and loves to dance. He is passionate about it. So passionate in fact that he gives free public lessons four times a month in Minneapolis where I live.

After the first 15 minutes I was hooked. This was the most fun I’ve had in ages. Yes, I looked like a dork but I had FUN looking like a dork. I can’t wait till next week!

I’m already buying some proper ballroom dance shoes (not cheap, so I better commit!) and a instructional video for home.
