...called The Dharma of Star Wars by Matthew Bartolin. It explains the basis of Buddhism using the Star Wars universe for comparison and shows the similarities between Jedi and Buddhists. It’s a much more informative book than some other “Introduction to Buddhism” books I’ve read and much easier to understand.
It’s a must have for any Jedi-in-training. It even comes with a Padawan Handbook!
while i know star wars is merely a fictional story, some part of the force makes sense to me…it sounds like china’s chi energy, or jesus’ healing energy, and i know of various exercises using such energies…so then, hypothetically, feats that the force enables jedis to do i could learn how to do. but would that make me a jedi or just a super awesome person?
I want to dedicate myself to an honourable life, deepening my understanding and mastery of myself and the world around me for the greater good of all beings.
There’s lots of paths for that. The Jedi mythos just seems like such an attractive one: active in the world, body, mind, will and emotions well tuned and well trained, an interesting balance between loners and a community. There’s a lot about the Jedi way that appeals to me.
