Quit waiting until my apartment is perfectly clean, my life is less challenging, whatever. Just have people over and have some damn fun. Some ideas: tamale-making party with Dad’s tamale recipe, book trade party, martini-tasting, chocolate-tasting… stay tuned.

We had plenty of parties and of course had a great time. Now we’re getting ready for the baby and different kind of parties!
One of my other goals is to get my house nice and clean. You see, my house is in a perpetual state of disarray. This makes it difficult and stressful to have people over. As soon as I get the house all clean, I’m going to organize at least a small gathering. Maybe I’ll even schedule it a little before I’m done with the cleaning, so it will be both motivation to get it done, and a reward for finishing. Then of course, I’ll have to clean up from the party, and then throw another, and the goals will go round and round in a continuous circle.
I love to have people over, but I so rarely do. There are lots of factors, but over the coming weeks I’m going to systematically tackle these. More to come…
I did it. I think it worked out well.
Trouble is with where I live is that no matter how ideal it is, it is still my parents house. The sad thing is that they are so concerned with who might turn up, who might trash the house, who might do what, that they forget to just have fun. They’re not normal in the sense that they think fun is something they deserve.
However, the party did go well…not as many people as I had thought turned up, but nonetheless, the people who mattered were there. The bouncy castle was a great hit, and SO worth the money. I’d forgotten how good they are!
Not bad for a first attempt, and it was finished off beautifully with a sweet and sweaty time with one of my favourite boys in a tent. What better end to a great day, eh?
We have the friends although widely scattered. Anyone want to come to a party in Pavo? Maybe we’ll hold a yearly event on our property.

I think having a party of some sort nearly every other week counts as a success on this one, each party has been different, and obviously it been christmas and new year has helped, but birthdays and just general gatherings are happening all the time, and we keep on just getting crowds of people around at the house for some good clean party activity.

Two big parties are lined up – New Year at “Chateau Fromage” (The name of my house) will be a smaller event, mostly close friends in the usual circle, with a few additional people close friends with the usual circle – so it will be a good mix. Decadence is the order of the day, and the party will last well into new year it’s self.
The Following month (28th of Jan, just after payday), the official Chateau Fromage house warming will be held, a pretty much open house event, with a hawaiian theme. Because we like fancy dress, and hawaiian is a good warm up for more exotic choices of theme that will come later – some people need to be introduced to such things easily so not put off.

I love throwing parties! I have hosted some of my own b-day parties, but hey, at least I know what I like. I would love a suprise party but, seeing as how my friends can’t throw a good party to save their lives, it might not happen.
Then there has been my Halloween party and my high school graduation party. I had some much fun planning and throwing them, it was awesome.
Next holiday I want to throw a party for: Birthday {yes, my b-day is a national holiday! Tell your work you need off! Feb. 21, I’ll be 19!}
