    Oh God... 1 day ago

I haven’t been to the dentist since I was a little kid. Like, little little. I am 22 now. Luckily my teeth aren’t bad, as far as I know. I am seeing one on Tuesday I believe.

    Uuuuuugggghhhhh…. I’m nervous.

yayyy for that, i officially have a $0 copay now for teeth cleanings!!
my first visit is scheduled for July 23rd…

I called for an estimate on cleaning (I don’t remember if they included the x-rays) and she said it would be about $70.

I might can afford that this week.
    ...maybe.

I switched dentists 1 week ago

Aside from the appointment last month at the old dentist, I’ve been to the new dentist twice, and have a third appointment on Monday.

They’re a little more pricey than the other guy, but they sound like they know what they’re doing more, and they’re friendlier. Plus the previous guy gave me an estimate for work on 12 teeth (that’s nearly half my mouth!!!)

And most worrisome – He didn’t sound like he knew where I had cavities, so he was prepared to drill through everything “just in case”. Pfft!

The new dentist said I only needed work on 5 (3 done, 2 to go)! The only thing I don’t like about the new dentist is that when she uses the needle to freeze my mouth it really hurts, and despite the 8 or so other dentists I have gone to, I’ve never had that problem before.

I really can’t afford any of this, but I know it’s not going to get any cheaper later.

But I’m going to keep this dentist, and they can remind me to get my regular check-ups, so hopefully this won’t happen again.

I need to do this at least sometime this year. I’m really scared of the dentist though and my teeth aren’t in good shape. Just going to have to bite the bullet I guess

I have never had insurance so going to the dentist/docter unless something was really really wrong just didn’t happen, I now have insurance and promised myself that when I got it I would always utilize it…..it’s been over a year and I still have only gone to the doctors twice and I keep putting off the dentist

Back on the list, 3 weeks ago

as it’s been a year here and I haven’t got a dentist. Two referrals from friends and no visit. Given my salivary gland issues, this is something I need to do regularly and I have dental insurance now. Having it on my list will be sufficiently annoying to spark action.

    Bad experience 4 weeks ago

All through my childhood I had a bad dentist, as in so bad she yelled at my little sister because she cried when she gave her a filling, my dad put his foot down and dragged her out right then and there and took her to a more specialised orthodontist instead, but because its cheaper and my teeth weren’t anywhere near as bad as my sisters me and my other siblings stayed going to the bad dentist. I’ve had two teeth pulled, one at least I’m sure didn’t need pulling as the other teeth supposedly trying to get through took another two years to even start. My sister had much more teeth pulled than me and the orthodontist was litterally examining her teeth and going ‘that didn’t have to be pulled, or that, or that.’
Haven’t been for a couple of years now, but I’ll need a checkup soon particaully as my wisdom teeth are coming through. Think I’ll shop around a bit first and try to find one that at least cares about the outcome.

I have a teeth cleaning appt.! For free! Somehow, a friend of a friend needed a tooth model for a ‘polishing’ class (she’s in dental school)... so, I need to get a cleaning prior to the class on Sunday. Which means, she scheduled me an appt for this afternoon, free of charge. SCORE! And another goal completed :)

    Appointment postponed 1 month ago

The nurse called me today and said that the doctor won’t make it today, he’s sick, so I have to postpone my appointment with him that was due today.
It’s postponed for next Monday at 6:30 PM.. Hope I won’t be stuck at work and miss it.
