build a darkroom

I think it will be a while before this happens, so I am going to take it off my list until it is more plausible

This will take some time. I have been trying to cobble together all the supplies. Stuff is expensive. I am going to build it in the kitchen rather than the bathroom due to spatial reasons and the fact my husband needs the bathroom in the eve. I love black and white photography. I love developing my own negs and prints and I am tired of having to go to expensive studios to do so or attend community college courses with bitchy instructors who don’t let take whatever pictures you want to take because they don’t notice that you are not a beginner and just want to use the damn darkroom.

My sister and her husband said I could use a room in their basement. It is perfect and now I just need to talk to my photography teacher and find out where i can get the cheapest supplies. I’m hoping to achieve this by next spring! If so I’d be in there for days! And it would really help out my photography career. I already have many people who want me to take their photos and have offered to pay me for it.

I acquired all the equipment for very cheap at a church yard sale (my mom did the pricing for the sale and hooked me up!). I have the room to build it in in the basement of my house. Unfortunately I have no extra cash available right now to afford the building materials to light-seal the room, build the cabinets and run the plumbing and extra electrical sockets needed. I think I’m gonna start looking on craigslist for materials, tools, etc.

Clearly this one has to come after “own a home”

now that we’re about to close on our first home, i’ve bought a book to learn about plumbing/ventilation/etc. details to learn more before i mess up the new house.

If you want to delevelop film and/or prints you need to do it. I’ve made a couple of darkrooms.

Ok, I got my darkroom all set up. Now to get my camera fixed!
