I think I need to work out a 2 or 3 week cycle of meals and then shop for it the same way every 2-3 weeks.
It’s irritating me how little imagination and enthusiasm I have for cooking lately. I feel as if I’m not taking enough care and love for my family when I make slapdash meals.

and felt that the outcome is good. There’s no cramming in the kitchen anymore, yay!

to plan your weekly meals. So that’s what I’m going to try and do.
- Roast chicken and veg
- Felafels, hummus and pitta bread with salad
- Chili con carne and wraps with salad
- Gammon ham and vegetables
- Something with fish – smoked salmon fillets with julienned vegetables
- Fish pie

is to plan meals. So no waste and no needless purchasing and stockpiles of food.
I’ve also found that an early dinner for all of us works best for moods, family life and getting things done later in the evening.
I will have a think about a weekly menu, or menus.

My sister and I are at our wits end. Lately, home-cooked meals have been minimal; we have been eating restaurant food far too often. The two of us are going to put what little energy we have together, and make up a dinner menu plan for a week or two in advance (at least).
We must bring peace, order (and nutrition) back to the family table!

for a while now when necessary – not every week, but it’s helped me keep less on hand, therefore wasting less money in groceries that sit around on a shelf instead of being eaten up. I’d say it’s worth it! I spend less on prepared foods because I plan out a crockpot meal or two and freeze them for lunches.

Over the last few months I’ve managed to do this for a week or two. My living situation over that period hasn’t allowed me to do it regularly so far, but now that I’m living full time back at my own house I plan to do it every week.
The few times I managed to plan out meals worked out great! It was so much easier, cheaper and more efficient to buy a weeks worth of groceries all at once. I could come home from work and just start cooking dinner without having to go out for the one or two ingredients I was missing. Such a time saver, and you can plan to use up ingredients more efficiently as well. I love it! It results in eating more regularly, healthfully and always having easy leftovers for a good lunch.

and so does my ever expanding waistline thanks to a diet of takeaway foods and rubbish.
I am looking at meals.com right now where they have hundreds and hundreds of meal plans and I’m writing down notes. It’s very inspiring : )
Other good sites? I suppose the weight watchers site is good for recipes and ideas and also for the weight part of things.
Any other suggestions from folks? I guess this very goal and ppl’s entries is fab too, of course :)
