How I did it: the loan was a 4 yr 11000 loan... i paid it off 1.5 yrs early.
After I put 1000 in savings for a just in case fund I started hitting this loan hard. It has a higher interest rate than my student loans so i wanted it gone first... I'd always pay at least $75 more than the payment. the bank i have my loan through has a coin counting machine that they dont charge any fee to use so i'd put all my change through it every six months and apply that to the loan... I am so close to completing this goal! I have only three more payments, $900 total, to go. 2 months ago
I plan to buy an income property soon and once I do, I’ll put all of the income generated from that property (hopefully $300-$500/mo) toward the payment of my car loan in addition to the usual $380/mo payments I make to stay current. Once I pay off my car, I’ll save the income from my income property PLUS the $380 I would have been paying for the car as savings for my next income property. This is all part of my master plan to retire by 30 so I can start a family without needing to work, as well as being able to devote my time to animal rights activism and blogging on my blog veganrabbit.com. 2 months ago
It looks like I getting a good amount back from my taxes. If I can put all of it to my car payment. I can pay off the car in 6 months. 3 months ago
