Ok, I probably have an edge since I was born in Texas. You can’t get a better accent than those of us who live in South Texas. But alas, I was born of an Air Force dad and therefore we moved away. Yet somehow, I managed to keep my accent fairly intact.
My kids and the guys at work smile when one of my Texas words come out: milk, three and ten are classics. In addition, it’s those little colloquialisms that also identify me as being Texas. fixin to and y’all are required I believe.

It scares my wife when I do it.
Makes the kids laugh.
Somehow, given my behavior around the house, I don’t think my wife is really worried about me being gay.

I love it when I talk to them.
It’s so friendly and warm to hear someone with a real Texas accent.
