Thomas My book, Surprise Endings, is now available for sale.

I missed January, but... 2 years ago

...I did enter three for February, so I’m gonna forgive myself, give myself a huge hug, and move on. :-)

The three poems I entered for february are:

    The Judgment of the Watchtower
    The day is fast approaching…
    The judgment is at hand…
    Soon all the GB hypocrites
    Will be forced to understand.

They soon will see their empire
    Crumble from disuse
    They truly could avoid this,
But it appears they’re too obtuse.

    For they fail to notice,
    They totally dismiss
The proof they’ve lost God’s favor.
    They pretend nothing’s amiss.

    But answer us this question,
    Oh guardians from the tower.
    Why can the mere internet
    Undermine your lofty power?

    Could it be the answer,
    Lies simply in the fact,
    That it’s only with Satan
With which the Watchtower has a pact?

    The Real Life
    Terrified of friendship’s bite,
    Qualified but full of fright,
The evil tower taught me well,
Took away my fear of Hell,
Replaced it with an ugly god,
One who rules with an iron rod,
Beats his children; hates his wife,
    Runs a universe of strife.

Then one day the madness lifted.
With a new hope I was gifted.
The truth really did set me free.
Free to be the complete me.
Instead of judgment in my eye,
Now I’m just a normal guy.
I see the beauty in the earth.
And know we’ve all intrinsic worth.

    Now I Know
    Feeling hopeless, useless
    Rejection left me low
    Way too low

    Death became an option
    The preferred option
    But no go

    I woke up, stomach pumped
    “Fuck you paramedics!”
    Profound woe

    Many memories missing
    Many bridges too
    Reap and sow

    Faith and hope dismantled
    Dreams all entangled
    Sun won’t glow

    Reaching out for others
    Former friends AWOL
    New ones show

    Love and concern offered
    Their judgment AWOL
    Hope can grow

    Equilibrium regained
    Hard lessons learned
    Now I Know
