I did not do very well on my first day of running 20 miles a week. I did not run at all, even though Charlie was working and I could have gone to the gym and run on the treadmill and watched “Top Chef” while I ran 5 miles. Instead I went home and fell asleep on the couch at 7:00, right after I got home from work. I did pilates at home.

I wanted to run a 10K and when I looked up training tips online, all of them were for people who were already running 20 or 30 miles/week. I am running 3 miles 3 times a week and 2 miles at least once a week, which is only (max) 11 miles and that is when I do a really good job; sometimes it is only 8 or 10 miles. I think I can do better than that and maybe if I can do 20 I can get up to 30 after that.
To run 20 miles/week I need to go 5 miles 4 times or 4 miles 5 times. I think I will try for the 5 miles 4 times, since some nights (at least 2 a week) I don’t want to go to the gym.
Last night I went 2 miles, so I am not sure I will make the whole 20 this week, but I can probably get close.
    Tonight (Wed): 5 miles
Thursday: nothing, unless I can go in the morning
    Friday: 5 miles
    Saturday: 5 miles
    Sunday: 3 miles
That doesn’t sound that bad. I have never gone 5 miles before, though. I might have to work out 2x/day, once in the morning and once at night. This sounds harder :(. I might need to start at 15.
