earn money from something that isn't my primary job

I’ve made my first move! Actually, I’ve been doing a lot of moves but they all just look like a messy dance number. But here’s one that has finally hit the stage. I think I’ve introduced it well and now it’s making its first few steps. I received somes claps and compliments already, which is a very good sign :)

What am I talking about? I set up a shop on Etsy for my photos. A few things are listed and I’m up to adding more soon. I haven’t made any sale yet since it’s still a wee baby who needs a lot of affection ;p So far I’ve been getting compliments for my photos and I’m really happy about that. Hope to have someone want to put one of em up their wall!

I still plan to sell other things too soon. I’ll probably have to put up another shop tough since it’s going to be sewn things. Maybe some purses, skirs, tops and dresses. Not photography related. Buyers might get confused about what kind of shop I run. I want to serve em neat ;)

A month ago I handed in my resignation letter. Effective in a month, that is today. I’m not exactly sure if this is the same thing. But since the “earning” part is still in the working department, I’ll have to leave this goal open. I’ll be studying Fashion on January, ENTIRELY different from web development. I’ll be doing random schematics for money and my time will now be bound by me :-)

With all of the dismal financial news is anyone interested in ideas on how to shop for deals?

I’m need of practical financial lessons. Me and my partner were able to make some good profits a few months ago doing layouts and design. We never got around making more money out of it, used it for vacation ha ha. I’ve been spending too much and my personal/emergency fund’s shrinking. I gotta start making my savings healthy before it gets anorexic.

The List -grows. I’ll have to sit and think and think hard about this one. I should make circles and red exes and numberings and all those been-thought-of-really-hard markings on my sheet. Then put a circle around one or two items, highlight, trace it with glitter glue, whistle a happy tune and start looking for suppliers. There.

I love photography and would love to make money from it outside of my career.

I’ve come up with a lot of ideas for this. They’re all listed on notepads and notebooks. I list down every detail, ignoring whether something makes sense or not, which I think is good cause I can just narrow them down soon. Problem is getting started. Hrrrm. What’s a great idea on paper. Will have to work on it.

but whaaat??? i am creative. i have a hyperactive imagination. but getting stuck in IT writing codes and scripts drained all that from me. well.. ofcourse you can’t be drained out of your creatives.. but i dont write the way i used to. i dont pick scraps and junk to make beautiful art anymore. aaack. inspiration please.

Its as easy as you want it to be. Lately I’ve been picking up extra cleaning hours, as well as babysitting work. Its an awesome way to make money, because I can work around my own schedule.

My fiance does painting and gardening jobs on the side too, not always for money either. Our neighbor is a remedial masseusse, and he weeds and mows her garden in exchange for her fixing his long term back problems. He’s never felt better, and she has a gardener…
