Maybe I should just give this up. 5 days ago

I planned this trip for my 40th birthday and it fell through. I thought I would still go “sometime” that year. But it didn’t happen. Mostly because I can’t seem to find a friend to go with me. Then I thought maybe I would just go alone. 2 years later, I still haven’t rescheduled the trip.

I’m not removing it for the moment because I still want to go. But it’s not looking good right now.

I blew it last year when I went to Vegas and didn’t even fit in a tour before leaving back to the east coast.

Wow what a view 1 month ago

I was fortunate enough to be able to take a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon while on a trip to Las Vegas. The view and sheer size of the Canyon was absolutely spectacular and something I will always remember.

Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and Lake Mohave were a sight to behold followed by a trip into the Canyon itself…although a bit bumpy and not for the faint hearted, the view was enough to distract from the fact that the blades of the helicopter where mere feet from the Canyon wall.

    Booked! 2 months ago

We’ve booked our hotel, and a mule ride. We’re not just going to see the Grand Canyon; we’re going to be IN the Grand Canyon! I am so excited!

    Reservation soon 2 months ago

I think I’ll be making a hotel reservation on the South Rim to celebrate a major upcoming accomplishment in my life. My husband and I talked it out and we’re both quite excited. Tomorrow I’m going to call about burro rides and if one’s available during one of the three days we’d like to be there, I’ll be reserving that AND the hotel!

We were staying in Sedona and only had 1 day allocated to the grand Canyon. All the activities in Sedona have to be booked ahead of time. We flew from Sedona to the Gradn Canyon airport. Took a heliciopter to a boat waiting on the river. Then took the helicopter back up for the ground tour. It wasn’t the cheapest way to do it but it was all in 1 day and 1 of the most amazing experiences I ever had.

I have always wanted to do this, and I WILL do this sometime before I die! :) I would love to see a sunrise or sunset, either one, because I’ve heard it is absolutely breathtaking. You can horseback ride, and then can camp under the stars or stay in a tepee lit only by a lantern! The also offer hot-air balloon rides, which is another thing I’d love to do. Can you imagine how beautiful it must look from up there? One day, I would absolutely love to do all of this at the Grand Canyon.

We took a day trip out here while visiting Vegas. Really, its just a big hole and that’s about it. But it is impressive to look at, there’s a nice little shop out there, the bus trip was enjoyable and we also got to stop and take a quick look at the Hoover Dam and Route 66. Defintly worth a visit at least once in your lifetime if you are anywhere near by!
