There are so many books that I want to read and, at the pace I’m going at now, I’ll never be able to read them all. I’m also worried about keeping up with schoolwork. It’s easy to fall behind since I don’t read very quickly, and… that’s frustrating. This seems important.

Hey all, I learned to speed-read through the program EyeQ, which more than doubled my reading speed. Without constant training the speed diminishes but you do retain some of it, and you can get yourself back into doing it very easily if you notice you’re not. EyeQ was a great program and I’d recommend it for anyone who wants to learn to speed-read. The applications are endless for it, and you’ll be a lot more productive… I go through books a lot faster now, and learn more.

HOWDY,
I was thinking doing this since two years , have much reasons for being sharper and expand my awareness in non-academic subjects and cause of my job as assistant gm which requires me to read a lots of paper , polices and contracts clauses.
Now I’m most sure about this , it is the appropriate time to do it in a right way, before completing my higher studies.
I found very useful wiki how site which i think is enough & good for starting
http://www.wikihow.com/Learn-Speed-ReadinG.
I will keep practicing for a week and see how it will result in
(imagine 500-1000 words a minute , HAHAHA)bragging

I’ve started the Peter Kump book. I’m up to day 6, but since I’m a full-time doctoral student, among other things, I’ve probably been at it for 7 or 8 days. I’m frustrated. I don’t feel like I’m progressing as fast as I should be – lots of people on the Amazon reviews say things like, ‘within a week I’d doubled/tripled my speed!’ And I seem to be stuck somewhere between 400-550. I think part of it is that I get paralyzed by fear of missing something important. Also I find the 1 minute drills incredibly difficult. I basically feel like I’m messing my hand around on the page with no particular rhythm or order and not really seeing anything at all, much less understanding. I’d be so disappointed if this didn’t work, or to find out I’ve somehow been practicing the wrong way or something. Maybe I just need to relax a bit.

after years of frustration, i’ve recently found myself to be occasionally able to silence the inner voice (technically known as subvocalization) when reading. this is really the key to faster reading. now i need to master this practice.

Speed reading means speed learning many times, so I want to do it.
I think it will be worth of doing.

I was really into this for a while. I was upset with the insane price for eye exercises. I decided to build my own and it helped me out a lot. I am offering them for free on this website. No gimmicks and nothing to sell. It’s all free. Check it out:

I am only topping off at 500 wpm and think I can do better. My wife is blazing fast. She reads about 800wpm. Thats like one paperback book a night before bed.

I hope I can make the most of it. Will be hard though since there’s a meeting in the afternoon. It’s only a one day class, so it’d be ashame if I missed half ot it.
Can’t wait to start applying what I’ll learn, I got so much to read, it’s piling up like crazy!

..the first in-house speed reading class will be middle of next month. The trainer will be the same folks who taught us Mind Mapping. That class was a blast and mind mapping has revolutionised how we capture, present and share info. Very encouraging indeed! Looking forward to this. :)
