Two lessons so far.
Struggled to get a clean strike beyond an easy canter.
Only offside forehand strikes for now.
Judging and controlling lateral distance to the line seems like my biggest hurdle at the moment. 2 years ago

Polo is a lot of fun, but it’s expensive because you need 6 horses per player. Just getting the horses from place to place is a lot of work, it ain’t for everyone. 5 years ago

Shoestring polo courses look really cool. Has anyone done one? They’re all inclusive and look amazing. I’ve played in the UK a bit. Have a look at www.shoestringpolo.com 6 years ago

I took lessons many years ago at a place that used mules instead of horses, but it was still polo. It was a lot of fun though the rule about having to use the mallet in your right hand caused me some problems.
I practiced a lot with a short mallet since striking the ball was a challenge for me. It is a pretty cool sport and someday if I get my ranch I might give it another go.
Have fun. 6 years ago

a dangerous rush – especially dangerous for beginners playing beginners. Tip: get a helmet with a face mask or prepare to lose you teeth.
Being a good rider is a huge advantage but wielding the mallet requires skill similar to playing tennis with a garden rake. I screwed up my wrist and quit after two screaming fun summers. 6 years ago
