I made another purse for a christmas gift, for my niece.
How I did it: I have wanted to make a bag for a while so I bought some yarn to do a felted one but I got the wrong thing. So I just started knitting and ended up with something really nice. I re-purposed a shirt for the lining and an old belt for the handles. I think I'm more proud of this purse than anything else I've knit sofar.
Lessons & tips: Just dive right in, use what ever materials and skills you already have.

I see that I failed to mention the other reason for my putting off the making of the purse: The bag of fabric and supplies was lost.
Well… it was put away, but I never looked up high in the cabinet. I looked under the sewing table and behind my craft chair and inside a box of fabric, thinking that it must have gotten shoved somewhere or had slid from wherever it was that I thought I had put it.
It is amazing how having something on the 43T list makes it want to happen. I had been working on other things in here tonight, when all of a sudden I got a strange urge to FIND that bag. I got up and looked in a few of the former places again and then for no reason, opened the cupboard and looked on the top shelf, in a basket of sewing supplies, and there it was. Like magic.
Magic is another name for the Law of Attraction, or the Watchful Hand of a Loving God.
Magic is good.
Yay!

I’ve been planning this purse for quite a while and I have everything I need to get it done. I’ve just never taken the time out of my life to put it together.
The outside will be made from a really cute pair of little girls’ jeans. The interior will be of a sturdy, but pretty fabric. It will have tons of pockets for all my stuff and will be cuter than the basic black leather purse I carry now.
My only delay on this project is that I have so much else to do, but as I finish some of these other projects, I will get to it and it will be SOOOO worth the effort!
i haven’t had the time to make my own purse in forever because of swim. but on Friday i had time, so me and my mom worked together and made the cutest purse i’ve ever seen. :) it was so worth it & i bonded with my mom. it turned out so amazing that everone thinks its from the store… unlike some of my other creations.
When I first started sewing I started by making purses and have been every since love making purses. :)

I’ve always wanted to make a purse. I’ve loved purses since I can remember. I’m going to Germany here shortly, and I want to make one that I can sling over my shoulder. Who knows if it’ll happen.
