learn to cook/bake

I tried to bake Skor Bar Squares last night. Something that is suppose to be simple and near foolproof. Haha. Everything went well until the timer went off. I turned around and looked at the oven and there was lots of black smoke pouring out of it. I ran to turn the oven off and open up the oven door. My roommate scrambled to hit the delay button the smoke alarms. The cat went running in a scaredy cat sort of way and hid for hours. The alarms still went off, I was embarrassed, and the apartment stunk. The entire top layer burnt and the rest didn’t quite bake long enough…go figure. But if you peel off the burnt tops they at least still taste good.
