build a square foot garden

I have a 3 by 8 SFG in my backyard now. This summer the yields weren’t great, but I know next year will be better. I planted and the yield:

• tomatoes – will have harvested 4 tomatoes by the end of summer
• cherry tomatoes – 1/2 lb. cherry tomates
• green beans – 1lb.
• peppers – 0 :(
• nasturtiums – many flowers
• marigolds – many flowers, keep some bugs away
• basil – tons of pesto
• cucumber – 2 tiny cucumbers
• zucchini – tons of flowers, no fruit

Once you put in the initial effort to set everything up, planting’s a breeze. I’m already planning for next year.

I decided not to go the square foot route with my garden, so I’m giving up on this one.
