he tried it for awhile but when you can tell the difference between lie and truth there is little satistaction in deception
To deal in lies is to deal from a position of weakness and poor moral foundation. Take for example the weapons of mass-destruction or operation enduring freedom, national security
It’s likely not all lies are bad, but all lies are weak
Lies hide a weak argument, a weak purpose or a weak position. I don’t think you have to tell the truth all the time – say you were sheltering a battered woman, or Jews in Nazi germany or American deserters, you wouldn’t have to tell the man you were doing it. It’s when you have to lie to yourself so you can go on that you’ve learned to lie like a social conservative. “some of my best friends are gay, I am a good Christian, I’m doing this for democracy and freedom”

here is an interesting lying technique jack tumbled to the other day:
it’s called repositioning. It’s a marketing tactic which uses slogans to fabricate a diference between competitors but it’s usefulness don’t end with the ad world. (In truth, to assume so would be niave – advertising has replaced all other means of persuasion in our time: theology, philosophy, reason…)
Say for example you wanted to invade an oil-rich but troublesome nation and plunder ‘er resourses. You wouldn’t go out and tell teh truth about it would you? No, that wouldn’t sell well at all. What you do is conjure up lot’s of NAZI imagry, link your political opposition to appeasement, play on peoples’ nostalgia for a time when right and wrong just seemed simpler to understand. I call this technique speak the lie and it becomes true
How then can we use this technique to advance our own ends? Down size it as a way of managing our own image and influencing others? Well, first we have to lose all thoughts of shame and decency, then we have to talk A LOT of shit…

check out this chick
Notice how like all good conservatives she manages to work in a bogus foundation of christian faith. This is clearly a lie, none of them actually believe in god. The nice thing about a conservatives faith is it enables them to feel righteous and say alot of bull-shit risk free – if they actually believed in God do you think they’d dare?
