2 days of real practice and I can do it. It’s not very pretty and sometimes I still get water in my sinuses, but that’s just practice.
I wonder why it was always so hard before. Probably because I was afraid of looking physically inept. Well, this whole racing thing has cured me of that. Now I’m a pro at looking inept and I don’t care!
Oh and it’s called a flip turn. A kick turn is on a skateboard. I totally can’t do that. 3 years ago

I think I can honestly say that I’ve learned how to do this now. They still aren’t pretty, but I’m doing them consistently. I’m going to mark this as accomplished! Yay me! 7 years ago

Kick turns are now up to 10 or 20…. and they’re still not pretty or really close to the wall or anything but they’re not bad either. 7 years ago

I swam yesterday and did about 4 or 5 kick turns. They weren’t that great, but at least I’m trying again. 8 years ago

I did another kick turn at the pool today while actually swimming, and a bunch at the end of the pool while treading water. I’m all kick-turn crazy. 8 years ago

I did just one kick turn yesterday like I said I was going to. Now I need to start doing more and make it a part of my whole swimming routine. 8 years ago

I’ve been practicing kick turns at the end of my swim workouts, but I am hesitating in adding them back in after every lap. I am going to the pool right now – I shall resolve to do at least one kick turn at the end of one lap. 8 years ago

I was working on doing a kick turn when I swim, and getting quite good at it, when I turned too close to the wall once and freaked myself out. So now I have to start all over again. 8 years ago
