Earn Rally obedience title with my dog

We did it, our very first title (and the very first title I’ve ever put on a dog!) We earned our RN a few weeks ago – it was a very hot and long weekend – we completely bombed our first trial, but went on to qualify the next few days!

In a few weeks we’ll start working on Advanced exercises – I may not be able to enter Eddie in Advanced trials just yet, as he is only a year old, and is not done growing. I don’t want him doing a lot of jumps that may damage his joints! But we’ll keep plugging away, and I may start getting him ready for Novice Obedience trials in the meantime, or we might start learning how to track!

Eddie and I got our first Rally Novice A leg back in May, at our national breed specialty (Mastiffs). It was the first time I’d ever done any kind of formal obedience trial, and it was a blast! We even beat Eddie’s breeder and littermate by one point – the breeder is a professional obedience trainer! I think she was as thrilled as I was, because she’s gotten another person hooked on Rally!)
