Basement still needs help. But remodeling the bathroom and kitchen have opened up space and forced a weeding/uncluttering that is phenomenal. Even with the addition of a baby to the household, there is less clutter!

Still working on storing what we need to keep safe if/when the basement floods again. Shannon’s room is turning into the storage room for games, books, etc. And I mean storage—organized, uncluttered. Working on that.

Our BEDROOM is wonderful now! Took out bookshelves and dressers full of clutter and dust—installed IKEA mirrored floor-to-ceiling wardrobes. MY CLOTHES ARE NOW IN OUR ROOM! Yea!

ReganCloset DONE

My mom, for some reason, felt like cleaning out my spare closet while I was at work the other day. She put everything throughout my room and we went through it all, deciding what things were trash, garage sale, or keep.

It took a few hours, but now the closet is clean and beautiful! 3 years ago

ReganLocker and Beneath the Bed

Locker cleaned out is now full of books, most of which came from beneath my bed. Magazines, boxes recycled. Junk and garbage thrown away. Now I just need to keep the clutter from building up! 3 years ago

ReganBathroom and Inspiration Board

Both are done!

Bathroom cleaned, shelves and cupboards organized, massive amounts of things throw away.

Inspiration board cleaned, pages and cards organized in my new fancy-dancy organizer, and new pictures put up.

Huzzah! 3 years ago

ReganAnother area

I uncluttered my spiritual area and the area around my bedside.

Now I just need to tidy my bathroom….ugh. 3 years ago

ReganUncluttering my bedroom

Bedroom officially uncluttered!
The closet has been de-cluttered, cleaned and reorganized.
It took about 2 – 2 1/2 days, but it was worth it.
There are still a few odds and ends to clear up but for the most part the room is tidy!

ReganUncluttering my closet

I just got back from Uni in the UK with 8 checked suitcases, 4 carry-ons, and 3 shipped boxes of books. I then looked in my closet and realized that I had no room whatsoever.

Therefore, closet cleaning!

I finally dropped off 5 garbage bags full of clothes and a a giant plastic bin of shoes.

I unpacked 2 of the 8 suitcases last night and am planning on unpacking another 2 – 3 later today.

I can almost see my closet floor now! 3 years ago

fleurnessand there's rewards!

i was sick all weekend and was bored of watching rubbish tv so totally sorted through all the piles of clutter in my room. the best part was that i found a €120 spa voucher and a €40 clothing voucher that i had ‘lost’. now it’s time to treat myself! now if i can just keep going with this tidy buzz it’ll be great… 4 years ago

meridiantruly

this isn’t going so badly after a big cleanup in December. I got 4 rooms almost completely clutter-free. The trick is to KEEP them clutter free. So I try to constantly

1. put things away after I use them
2. look around at least once per day (usually before bed) and clean up the little clutter piles all over

I still have a couple rooms to unclutter, of course. But I feel better, overall. 5 years ago

meridianmagazines

all my mags have been gone through, crap removed and in recycling and others (which I keep – eg. gardening, craft and some collectibles) organized into magazine boxes. 5 years ago

meridianso..

if I notice something out of place (which is really easy around here), I grab it while I’m going about my ordinary everyday life and take care of it. I either: return it to it’s regular spot, put it in a specific area/box where I’m putting things which require more thought or GET RID OF IT (which is actually another area where I put items which are on their way to being donated). This is good.

The other thing that is probably even better is that I’m always forcing myself to put things back where they go, which has resulted in helping me with the goal learn self-discipline as well as uncluttering my life.

Bonus!

The next step is actually to schedule a certain time to do bigger jobs. That’s coming up very soon. 5 years ago

meridianstarting

everytime I walk by one of these piles of papers or whatever I’m grabbing a bunch and sorting through them. 5 years ago

meridianI accept your dare

But I do this everyday. Everyday is a goal to unclutter my life and it’s still cluttered. I think this is impossible. 5 years ago

shrnmcKitchen and hall closet DONE!

I’ve got to celebrate my achievements and not beat myself up for still having my holiday decorations up, right?

I’ve reorganized the kitchen cabinets, made two trips to Goodwill, and redone the hall closet once again.

It’s so hard for me to leave empty space on the shelves in the hall closet. Not sure what will go there, but I’m trying to keep an open mind! 6 years ago

shrnmcBasement

I’ve finally started cleaning, clearing, and organizing the basement. Of course, it’s easier to do with the kids’ stuff than mine, but I’m doing it. Also getting rid of huge numbers of empty boxes and packing material I’ve been keeping “in case we need it” to send packages. Well, I’ve started shopping online, and THEY PACK AND SHIP. No more excuses … next week, we have a huge load for the recyling truck! 6 years ago
