cwinkler school's out for summer
been painting a lot more now that school’s out. A few days ago I ended up painting my skateboard which came out pretty dece. Just need to throw the trucks and wheels back on and then we can ride
How I did it: I used to paint a lot, but since i started working I kinda stopped. I made 3 large painting this past year and loved every moment of it. My goal for this year is do at least 5 and to sell them.

Solstice_01 you are free -- free as air
I used to paint a loooot… i’ve stopped it and i feel kind of empty… I’m starting again as soon as I finish my exams, I have made that promise to myself!
How life would be without art???? It’s an incredible way to express yourself…
I went to school to study art, but life has gotten in the way of my creativeness. I want to make time for painting.

I painted my old yellowed french provincial a new clean white. It looks fantastic. I also took an old keepsake, but very childish framed item and turned it into something very nice that I can keep. I painted the frame white, turned the board around so the old image faced the wall, painted the back of the board to match the room it is going into’s ceiling, then flattened and dried some solomon’s seal from my garden, and painted it yellow to match the walls, and reframed it. Now I can keep the old piture, but I don’t have to show it off. And I have a perfectly coordinated piece of decor. yay!
karenrod is composing this list.
Go to more Sips and Stokes or just paint more at home. I want to fill my house with my art work.

not what I had in mind, but it is nice!
atinygoat would rather be at the beach.
Diana and I went to check this out yesterday, and ended up running into Jessica. We all three agreed that we have the supplies necessary, and the ideas in our heads, but we rarely sit down and get it out on paper/canvas/etc.
Its a shame too. I don’t know what I’m waiting for.. I feel inspired sometimes but do not take advantage of it.
While at the AI, I took some pictures of styles I was feeling, and would have sat down to paint something then and there, if I could have.
Now though, I have a list of BS phone calls and chores I need to do all morning. I’m thinking that this is showing me that if I want to paint, I need to make time for it.
KAPTINGREENBEAR08 IS OUT AND ABOUT!
PAINTING IS MY GET AWAY. IT JUST RELAXES ME IN A WAY I DID NOT THINK COULD BE POSSIBLE. I DO NOT KNOW IF ANY ONE ELSE FEELS THAT WAY, BUT IT’S LIKE READING A GOOD BOOK AND BEING SO ENTWINED IN IT THAT YOU DO NOT WANT TO PUT IT DOWN. THAT IS HOW I GET WHEN I AM PAINTING. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. YOU CAN JUST LET YOURSELF GO FROM THE WORLD OUTSIDE. YOU FEEL THE PAINTBRUSH IN YOUR HAND, SMELL THE WET PAINT ALL AROUND YOU, AND HEAR THE BRUSH RUN ACROSS THE CANVAS. IT IS JUST AN AWESOME FEELING. IT MAY SOUND WEIRD SINCE I’M SO YOUNG WRITING THIS WAY ABOUT PAINTING BUT, IT REALLY HELPS ME LET GO.

Last night, as I was tossing and turning and trying to fall asleep, I was struck by an idea for a painting.
I need an old book, with yellow pages. I will tear them out, paint them with water colors, allow them to dry, and then craft them into paper flowers. And I’ll give them to Jessica for her birthday!
I went to Michael’s and bought some acrylic paint and some canvas. For me the hardest part of this venture is just diving in. Painting always seemed like such a permanent medium because canvas is a rarer surface than paper. I always felt like I had to really know what I was doing to put something on CANVAS. But when I bring this up people are quick to remind me that with canvas, you can easily paint over. So with that thought in mind, I began my adventures in painting.
Today I took out the paints and just screwed around, playing with different brushes and mixing a bunch of colors. I ended up making an octopus for fun. It’s nothing amazing, but I really enjoyed working on it.
Painting more will continue!
