    Do it! 17 months ago

Done this twice now. Reckon I’ll keep on doing it every year. Great atmosphere at every race, and a great cause.

My father recently passed away from cancer and it came to our attention that there are hardly any facilities/nurses for patients in the area we live. My sister and I have decided this year to run the Race for Life in memory of our Dad who is missed be us all every day. This is the first time we will have done this and hope to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK. I know that no-one on here knows me but I’ve put a link below to my sponsorship page…any sponsor money is greatly received no matter how small :)

It is an amazing experience completing a marathon, so amazing it is impossible to describe it. As i passed through that finishing line as the first and fastest runner i heard the cheers and applausing around me. A marathon is a life changing experence and it is worth the work, I thought about how the money i had raised could save many lives and i can tell you, i was, for the first time in my life, speechless. I can promise you all, its the best thing you can ever do, there is no doubt i will run again. I just cant miss out of that experience. : )

What is the age group of the training programe your following?

    done! 2 years ago

i ran the whole thing in 32 minutes. i’m very pleased with that. the atmosphere is great, and i raised nearly £50 in sponsorship money for cancer research. i’d definately like to do more (and longer) races in the future.

Run, Fozzy, Run! 2 years ago

Just entered to do the Liverpool Race for Life on July 15th!

I’ve never done any kind of charity run in my life, so it’ll be a new experience for me. Although I try to stay fit in general (as I practise tae kwon-do), I’m not a big runner so it’s not gonna be easy…. It will definitely be worth it though.

    5 Km 2 years ago

For any of you who don’t know what it is, the Race For Life is a 5 Km walk, jog, or run (and I and H hope to run even though my fitness levels, let us just say, could be better). It is for women, but my housemate E (male) is threatening to put on a wig and a pair of fake boobs and run alongside us! And it is for Cancer Research UK, so a great cause.

You could also do the race yourself, they’re held all over the UK.
