It looked more than a little dicey there for a while. The train did not arrive on schedule. We got the tickets online and the little station building was dark and closed up tight. No one to talk with. No way to check the status of things. (We don’t do cell phones).
it was *&^$! cold. Vancouver island is not usually like this. It’s like Hoth out there (Star Wars fame). !0 minutes late. 20 minutes late! half hour late!!! (Steam starts spewing out my ears) That’s it! Let’s go. I want my money back. Okay. I’ll wait until up to an hour, but no more! An hour late. An hour and a quarter … Woo-woo.
Is that? That’s the train! Run! Run! Whew! Okay they see us. Yeah!!! Go on a train ride. (smiles)

I must admit it’s a bit of a frew-frew train trip. I mean a trip that’s not across ‘the great divide’ or some other adventure train trek, but it is a train trip. And we are booked on it!
(Let’s just hope that the same weather that prevented my hot air balloon ride on my birthday, doesn’t stop the trains. Vancouver island is having extreme weather these days:)) We’ll see.

Trains are a romantic way to travel (at least in my mind). I’ve never taken a train trip – not on a real train, just a subway and a skyway.
I think I just want a day trip at first. Maybe I can get this done during the holiday season. A little trip from mid island to Victoria works for me! (I’ll put it on my wish list)
