Trying to wend my way through another Friedman book (The World is Flat) and the opposing side (represented in Globalization and its Discontents), as well as picking up more nuanced points from articles in TNR and other media.
My goal for the rest of the day is to wend my way through Discontents and also the information in this site: http://www.globalenvision.org/index.php?fuseaction=home.google

But I did a LOT of cleaning this weekend – so much that it hurt, Saturday night! I am about halfway through with this book. I get some of the major issues – the need for a legal infrastructure that supports openness and ethical behavior being the most surprising yet commonsensical to me. I want to know more, though. LOTS more.

3 chapters down. Goal is to finish Lexus this week, then seek out and devour opposing points of view.

... The Lexus and the Olive Tree. Read two chapters last night, hope to have it finished by the weekend. Any ideas on what to read or look at next, to understand this incredibly complex “new” system?
